Personalized YETI tumbler engraving can turn an existing piece of drinkware into a unique gift without adding stickers, vinyl or printed decoration. For this Ottawa project, the client supplied a blue YETI tumbler and asked us to engrave a large personalized design featuring the words “Kelly’s Cup of Ambition” together with detailed butterfly artwork.
The design was laser engraved directly through the exterior coating, revealing the metal underneath and creating permanent, high-contrast personalization.
What Did the Client Want Engraved?
The client wanted to personalize an existing YETI tumbler with a decorative design combining script lettering and butterfly artwork.
Because the design covered a relatively large vertical area of the tumbler, the different elements needed to work together as a single composition. The lettering had to remain readable while the butterfly artwork needed enough space to preserve its recognizable details.
What Was the Engraving Challenge?
Engraving a design onto a cylindrical tumbler requires careful sizing and positioning.
The combination of flowing script lettering, multiple text lines and detailed artwork had to be arranged within the available engraving area while following the proportions of the customer-supplied YETI.
The goal was to create a prominent personalized design without overwhelming the original appearance of the tumbler.
What We Produced
We laser engraved the custom “Kelly’s Cup of Ambition” design and butterfly artwork directly onto the coated stainless steel YETI tumbler.
The laser removed the exterior coating only where the artwork was engraved, exposing the metal underneath and creating a strong contrast against the original blue finish.
No printed graphic or vinyl lettering was added to the tumbler.
What Was the Result?
The finished YETI features permanent personalized engraving with clearly visible script lettering and butterfly artwork.
The original blue coating remains intact around the engraved design, while the exposed metal provides the contrast that makes the personalization stand out.
The result is a customer-supplied everyday item transformed into a distinctive personalized piece while retaining the original YETI construction and finish outside the engraved area.
