Japanese sake box engraving can add personalized text or artwork to an existing wooden presentation box while preserving its original design. For this Ottawa project, the client supplied a finished wooden sake box featuring existing Japanese branding and asked us to add custom Japanese characters directly to the wood.
The new engraving needed to work with the artwork already on the box rather than compete with it, making positioning, scale and visual balance particularly important.
What Did the Client Want Engraved?
The client wanted additional Japanese characters engraved onto an existing wooden sake presentation box.
Because the box already featured printed or branded Japanese artwork, the new personalization could not simply be placed anywhere on the surface. It needed to fit naturally within the existing composition and available space.
What Was the Engraving Challenge?
The primary challenge was integrating new engraving into an already finished and branded product.
The Japanese characters needed to be sized and positioned so that they remained clearly visible while maintaining appropriate spacing from the existing artwork.
The natural grain and colour variation of the wood also formed part of the finished appearance.
What We Produced
We laser engraved the custom Japanese characters directly onto the customer-supplied wooden sake box.
The engraving was positioned relative to the existing artwork and proportions of the package, allowing the new personalization and original design to remain visually distinct.
What Was the Result?
The finished presentation box combines its original Japanese branding with permanent custom engraving.
Rather than replacing or covering the existing artwork, the added characters became part of the overall presentation while retaining the natural appearance of the wooden surface.
This project demonstrates our ability to engrave finished customer-supplied wooden products, including items where existing artwork must be considered during layout and positioning.
